Korean women’s national soccer team Rookie midfielder Bae Ye-bin (19, Widuk University) took a step closer to their dream.
Bae Ye-bin was announced in the final list of 23 players for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia-New Zealand. She’s the youngest member of the women’s football team led by coach Colin Bell.
Bae Ye-bin was selected for her A national team for the first time in November last year. Bae Ye-bin, who made her A-match debut in April as a substitute for the friendly match against Zambia, played full-time in the second match against Zambia three days later.
With the opening of the tournament, Bae Ye-bin approaches the next day as she prepares for the World Cup with her seniors. Korea, which belongs to Group H, is competing in the group stage against Germany, Morocco and Colombia to advance to the round of 16.
Bae Ye-bin said in an interview with the Korea Football Association on the 19th. “The World Cup is the dream of all players, and I’m so happy that I feel like a step closer to this dream.” I will. I’m getting ready.”
Subsequently, Bae Ye-bin was selected for the U-20 (under 20 years old) women’s national team led by coach Hwang In-seon in August of last year, and she went to the 2022 FIFA Costa Rica U-20 Women’s World Cup. However, she was eliminated in the group stage.
Bae Ye-bin said, “It was the 20-year-old national team, but it was my first international competition. Although I was eliminated, I think it was a very valuable experience.”
In addition, Bae Ye-bin said, “Coach’s soccer style wants you to do a lot of high intensity. No matter what player you become, you always try to help the team, and I think all players should have a responsibility.” Everyone’s preparing well as one, so it’d be nice if we could get synergy together.”
Bae Ye-bin asked the fans, “I hope you will always support us from afar. All players work harder than one. Since victory is our goal, please support us so that we can take a step closer to victory.”
