Samsung Lions right-hander Lee Ho-seong (20), in his second year as a professional, pitched his best game of the season to earn the team its first valuable win in five games. In particular, he went 5⅔ innings, the most since his first-team debut last September, raising expectations for the future.

“I think I was lucky in today’s game,” Lee said, but he was also happy, saying, “I didn’t realize how precious the first win was.”

Lee started the game against the Doosan Bears of the 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul, South Korea, and pitched 5⅔ innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits (one home run) with one walk and two strikeouts.

After earning his first win of the season in the team’s 9-2 victory, Lee improved his record to 1-2 with a 4.00 ERA.

The first overall pick of Samsung in the 2023 KBO Draft, Lee made his first-team debut in September and went 1-0 with a 2.65 ERA in five appearances, raising expectations for the season.

However, before this game, he had struggled, pitching only 3⅔ innings, his most this season. He had a shaky start to the game, giving up two runs in the second inning due to a high fastball, but he improved from there.

“I had been bad in the previous games, so I was down on myself and my confidence was low,” Lee said. “I went to the mound with the mindset of throwing away complicated thoughts and just 토토사이트 doing what I could, and the results came out fine.”

“Last year, I got my first win in two games, so I didn’t realize how precious a win was,” he smiled.

However, he was disappointed that he was removed with one inning left in the sixth inning and was unable to complete a quality start (three runs or less in six innings). “I was very disappointed,” Lee said, but he remained resolute, saying, “I will accept any situation as long as the team can win.”

When asked about his goals for the season, he said, “I don’t have any numerical goals,” adding, “I think if you do the best you can in every moment, the results will follow.”

However, he vowed to “make up for the quality starts I didn’t get today as soon as possible.”
