Suwon KT’s Heo Hoon won a long-awaited sibling battle to lead his team to its fourth straight victory.

KT defeated Busan KCC 85-71 behind Paris Bass (33 points) and Heo Hoon (19 points) in the 2023-2024 regular season at Sajik Gymnasium in Busan on Tuesday.

KT, which improved to 10-5 with its fourth straight win, trails first-place Wonju DB by 3.5 games.

The game was highlighted by the matchup between Heo Woong and Heo Hoon, the two sons of former national basketball team coach Heo Jae.

Heo Woong (then Wonju DB) and Heo Hoon met on the court for the first time in a year and eight months after their head-to-head match on March 10, 2022.

Heo had been away from the court for military service and returned on March 18.

KCC’s Heo started the game, but KT’s Heo entered the court with 6 minutes, 8 seconds left in the first quarter, and that’s when the battle began in earnest.

It was Heoong who caught fire first. Heo scored eight points in the first quarter alone, including two three-pointers.

He didn’t score in the first quarter, but he did have two steals and three assists, including a steal of Heung’s ball with 33.1 seconds left in the quarter. Hehun scored the first points of the second quarter with a three-pointer.

As unforgiving as the brothers’ matchup was, the teams traded baskets and the half ended with KT holding a one-point lead, 43-42.

The third quarter belonged to Heo Hoon. Heo scored 14 points in the third quarter alone, including two three-pointers, to lead the offense and give KT a 72-59 lead.

KT didn’t let up, and with 1:33 left in the fourth quarter, Heo Hoon’s layup, assisted by Jung Sung-woo, made it 83-70.

KCC’s Heo scored 14 points, but had to watch his younger brother win the game.

Changwon LG defeated Seoul SK 87-73 on the road at Jamsil Student Gymnasium in Seoul to stay tied for second place (10-5) with KT.

Lee Jae-do poured in 25 points to lead the offense, while Asem Marei added 15 points to help secure the win.

LG hit 17 three-pointers, including seven from Lee Jae-do.

LG also dominated the rebounding battle, outrebounding SK 46-25, with Marei grabbing 23 rebounds.

LG has won both meetings with SK this season.

SK was led by Oh Se-geun’s 21 points, but saw its home winning streak end at 10 games. 토토사이트
