Azu University and Hongik University advanced to the tournament with three-game sweeps.
Azu University, coached by Ha Seok-ju, won 3-1 against Dongwon University at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the third group game of the 20th Tongyeong 1-2 Grade College Football Tournament in the Promised Land. After defeating Andong University of Science and Technology and Songho University 텍사스홀덤 earlier in the day, the team posted an impressive record of eight goals and one concession in three games.
On this day, AZU broke the 0-0 balance in the first 20 minutes. Sung Ki-wan’s cross was finished by Yeon Jun-won to take the lead. In the 44th minute, Yeon found the back of the net again in a chaotic situation inside the penalty box. In the 13th minute of the second half, Jang Yun-sik also scored to drive a wedge into the game. Dongwon had to settle for a goal just before the end of the match.
Hongik University, led by Park Chang-hyun, also cruised into the tournament with three straight wins. The team defeated Chonju National University, Wonkwang University, and Jeju International University in the preliminary round. Kyungpook National University is also headed to the knockout stage after going unbeaten in three matches (two wins and one draw).
