Hernandez played two of his 14-year MLS career in Toronto, helping the team win the MLS Cup, Supporters’ Shield, and the Canadian Championship. Prior to signing with TFC in 2017, Hernandez was selected sixth overall by the metro stars in the 2005 MLS Supplementary Draft and played eight seasons for the San Jose Earth Quakes.

The team fired coach and sports director Bob Bradley on Monday. Former Toronto general manager Ali Curtis left the club in November 2021 to serve as senior vice president of competition and operations for MLS Next Pro.
