Marseille’s pursuit of Hwang Hee-chan (Wolverhampton) is back on track.

Marseille defeated Lyon 3-2 in the fifth round of the 2024-2025 French Ligue 1 at the Stade Grupama in Lyon, France, on Wednesday (Feb. 23).

It looked like the game was over when Rayan Cerci scored two minutes into stoppage time, but Jonathan Lowe scored a theatrical goal just before the end to seal a 3-2 win for Marseille.

Marseille are now tied on points with PSG and AS Monaco after their opening five games, with four wins and a draw. It’s a far cry from last season’s underachieving Marseille.
