At a meeting of sports ministers held late last week, the possibility of setting up a government-owned lottery to financially support Australian sports and top athletes was discussed.

The idea was triggered by the Olympic Games, which Australia is supposed to participate in. The Turnbull Government (Federal Administration of Australia) has set up a lottery plan to financially support the development of Australian sport.

Nevertheless, Palaszczuk expressed his opposition, explaining that the lottery may send out hailstones from sports gamblers. In addition, she warned that the establishment of such a lottery may have a very negative impact on small businesses that give jobs to nearly 20,000 people.

Mr Palaszczuk points out that sports lotteries can damage the operation of traditional lotteries, which are now generating significant income for the state’s finances. It also added that the money earned from the current lottery is used to fund Victorian hospitals and charities.

Federal Sports Secretary Greg Hunt has tried to soften Palaszczuk’s stance on the issue, explaining that the establishment of such a sports lottery would not in any way undermine the income of already existing lottery tickets. Before distributing money to various sports clubs, he promised that the sports lottery would preferentially compensate the government for possible losses, which officials fear.

Mr Hunt also agreed to extend the founding period of Sports Lotto, providing ample time to explore various ways to realize the plan. The proposed lotto is based on a system similar to the UK’s lotto, but it is not limited to this system.

State Sports Secretary Mick de Brenni says branding gambling an inappropriate source of funding is a bigoted idea. He further said Australian sports are in urgent need of financial help and the sports lottery seems like a good opportunity.파워볼게임

A spokesman for Hunt also expressed embarrassment that while the Farrah’s Chuk administration is supporting poker machines, it is not a lottery to help develop Australian sports development. Supporters of Turnbull’s lottery idea explained that just because Fallazchuk refused the lottery does not mean that the lottery is unlikely.

Since the Turnbull government only needs state approval to authorize over-the-counter ticket sales, the sports lottery plan can be realized without state approval.
